Muzumder
Dr. Sandeep Muzumder is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Apollo Cancer Centre, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This comprehensive cancer centre provides the full spectrum of oncology services, including Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Hemato-oncology.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Muzumder is a highly skilled Radiation Oncologist treating all types of cancers. His areas of expertise include head and neck cancers, SRS for brain tumors, and SBRT for lung and liver tumors.
From 2014 to 2025, Dr. Muzumder served on the faculty of St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru, where he was appointed Professor and Head of Radiation Oncology in 2023.
In 2010, driven by his commitment to continuous learning, Dr. Muzumder completed a UICC ICRETT fellowship on Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) of Lung Tumors at VU University Medical Centre, Amsterdam. He strengthened his IMRT and IGRT skills while working as an Attending Consultant at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon (2011–2012). His proficiency in SBRT and SRS with CyberKnife was further refined at HCG Hospital, Bengaluru (2013–2014).

Completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) in 2022.
Completed the Revised Basic Medical Education Training (MET) Workshop by the National Medical Council at St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru in 2021.
Obtained a certificate in Essentials of Palliative Care (Reg. No. 12041801) from the Indian Association of Palliative Care in 2018.
Completed a one-week course in Health Research Methodology & Evidence-Based Medicine at St. John’s Research Institute, Bengaluru (affiliated to McMaster University, Canada) in 2014.
Awarded the UICC ICRETT fellowship in 2010 for specialized training on SBRT of Lung Tumors at VU University Medical Centre (VUMC), Amsterdam.
